Last weekend, Jake and I and a few of our closest friends went to see a movie that Jake had put on our radar only a few days before. And we fucking loved it.
Based on a short story, Arrival is by far one of the best movies I’ve seen in years. Honestly, I can’t speak highly enough of it and it’s second only to Kubo and the Two Strings for my personal best movie of the year title. You can find the original short story in The Story of Your Life and Others. With homage’s to Contact, Karl Sagan himself, and classic scifi films like 2001: A Space Odyssey and Epoch, Arrival is wholly original and undeniably gorgeous both visually and in its storytelling.
If you see no other movies this Fall, go see Arrival. It will rock you.
