A New Jeep!
So… I did something silly. I traded the Cherokee and bought a 2017 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Unlimited. And I love it so much!

If you’re a regular visitor to CleanUpAfterYourDog.com, you may notice a few changes today: the title and “about me” are different and the header image has changed. I’m starting a new adventure in Washington in April and I wanted to get things in place to reflect these changes. For a while now I’ve felt like…
At first, my reaction to the idea was surprise and amused denial, but as the conversation has progressed I’ve come to see it as an incredible opportunity. This is something that I’ve discussed with my doctors, agonized over privately, talked about with friends and family, completely abandoned, and returned to repeatedly for months. Adopting and utilizing a service dog, it should be obvious, is not a decision I have approached lightly.
This week I received word that a project I produced last year won two creative awards, taking home bronze and gold placements in the Horizon Interactive Awards and Hermes Creative awards, respectively!
Last night, on our way home, Jake and I found a large black Labrador running around in the street. He has no microchip and no tags on his collar, but very clearly has a home. We’re trying to find where he belongs. Can you help us?
Tonight, along my best friend and his wife, Jake and I watched the 2015 Perseid Meteor shower amongst wolves, laying in the grass and howling at the stars. There’s nothing more awe inspiring than watching the events of space unfold before your eyes to truly highlight just how lucky we all are.
The 2013 Annual Fund Thank You video for Duke University won a Horizon Interactive Award! This was a really exciting project to work on. I live very close to Duke’s campus and creating a map through the famous architecture and grounds was a lot of fun.
This past Tuesday, the first day of autumn, I fractured the fifth metacarpal in my hand by punching the counter. It wasn’t the smartest thing I’ve ever done. It wasn’t the dumbest either, if you can believe that. On Friday I had surgery to set the bone and insert two (or possibly three, the surgeon didn’t specify and I can’t see my hand yet) pins/wires to hold the finger straight. Since then I’ve had to explain what happened and why more times than I can remember. I figure if it’s that interesting, I should probably write about it. I’ll apologise in advance for the bad flow, sentence structure, and word choice/use ahead of time—I’m on some pretty serious pain killers, guys.
Take a look back and recognize those who helped shape your path and thank them. Reach out to your teachers, friends, and coworkers and let them know you appreciate them. Let them know what an impact they have had on you and your life and send them genuine thanks. No one got to where they are in life by themselves, not a single person, so take a moment to thank those who have helped you.
Here in the US, many of us think of a ball in New York’s Times Square descending a mast in time with a count down clock as the main event. Essentially we are celebrating the turn of the clock. But, let’s think about it for a moment. What the new year really signifies is the completion of an approximately 585 million mile journey about our nearest star. That’s pretty incredible!
